The Sons & Heirs presents
Unloveable
A Smiths & Morrissey Valentine’s

Featuring

The Sons & Heirs
(A Tribute to The Smiths & Morrissey)

Hosted by Rolling Stone’s Rob Sheffield

About:
The Sons & Heirs. New York’s finest band devoted to the music of the Smiths and Morrissey. Handsome devils. Stalwart lovers for sure. They’re twice as much fun as an actual Morrissey show — because they bring more heart and enthusiasm to these songs than the man himself.

The Sons & Heirs have played this music all over the world, from Tel Aviv to Los Angeles. Their Valentine’s Day event Unloveable has become a New York ritual—every year it’s the toughest ticket in town. In 2015 they headlined the international Smiths-Morrissey convention in Hollywood.

But wherever The Sons & Heirs play, they bring passionate love for the whole musical journey of Morrissey, Marr and their mates — the songs that saved our lives. That’s why they always bring out a crowd of fans who love the Smiths as much as they do. (Including an actual member of the Smiths, Andy Rourke, as well as Morrissey’s long-time drummer, Spencer Cobrin – both have gotten up on stage to play with them.)

Every show is different. Every show permanently changes my mind about this or that song’s brilliance. The Sons & Heirs invite the crowd to sing along, dance, invade the stage. There’s always a song I’d forgotten about, always a song that makes me think “well, they won’t top this one tonight,” until they do. They open my eyes, like a tattooed boy from Birkenhead.

The Sons & Heirs get the tiniest details right, but more importantly, they bring the spirit that makes this music immortal. They sing their lives, and probably your life, too. Definitely mine.”

About Rob Sheffield
Rob Sheffield is a columnist for Rolling Stone, where he has been writing about music, TV, and pop culture since 1997. He is the author of two national bestsellers “Love Is a Mix Tape: Love and Loss, One Song at a Time” and “Talking to Girls About Duran Duran: One Young Man’s Quest for True Love and a Cooler Haircut.” He also appears regularly on VH1. His new book is “On Bowie.” Rob lives with his wife in Brooklyn.

The Sons & Heirs: A Tribute to The Smiths & Morrissey
sons-and-heirs-nye-2016

Good times for a change!

Are you ready to say goodbye to the absolutely dreadful 2016? What better way to do it than amongst friends? Please join us at Brooklyn’s uniquely beautiful Littlefield for a New Year’s Eve event you actually want to be at. Exactly 23 years after The Smiths arrived in NYC (New Year’s Eve at Danceteria… with Madonna opening!), we will celebrate the songs that saved our lives. Immediately before and after our set, DJ Jane Elizabeth (Tainted Love) will spin retro vinyl. We absolutely loved her last time.

Please do not get left in the cold, this event sold out quickly last year, and we expect a full house again. Plus, advance tickets right now are $5 off… Save $5 with this link (includes champagne toast) before it sells out!

“Thrilled to announce we’ll be celebrating a decade (?!) of playing this great music on Saturday, August 27 at New York’s Gramercy Theatre.

We’ll also be celebrating 10 years of YOU – and all the great crowds who’ve come out to see us all over the country (and the world – looking at you, Tel Aviv). Each one of you plays a huge role in helping us recreate the full live experience of a Smiths or Morrissey show.

We’ve kept advance tickets prices low for this one in hopes that anyone who’s ever come out – or even considered it – will join us for this very special gig on the 27th.”
