Hey New York,

Spring is here, I can feel it! Except for that hail like thing that was falling from the sky yesterday morning. Soon it will be nothing but concerts in the park, motorcycle rides, and long summer nights. Until then, we’ve got plenty of cozy indoor events too keep you all warm and fuzzy inside. Check it!

Let’s start with our giveaway this week, because that’s always fun. We have a few pairs of Rüfüs du Sol & Lemâitre GA tickets for you courtesy of our friends at Highline Ballroom on Wednesday, March 26. Click HERE for details to win yours, we make it so easy!

As for the weekend, we will keep you quite busy! On Friday, the Brooklyn based music and culture magazine, ALT CITIZEN, is bringing you a free Anamanaguchi show at Brooklyn Night Bazaar, along with Awkwafina, Maxo, Saint Pepsi and a DJ set from Alex English. Find out more about ALT CITIZEN and all their fabulousness here.

Also on Friday, the Trash! party will be hosting the official after party & guest DJ set by WARPAINT at The Studio. We saw Warpaint at the SS Coachella and they were fantastic.  The best part is, we’ve got your discounted admission to Trash! which includes a Warpaint concert ticket. All you gotta do is say “Shaw Promotion reduced list” at the door, hand the man $5, and enjoy!  It’s because we care about you.

Another worthy mention for Friday is the return of “The Sons & Heirs”, A Tribute to The Smiths & Morrissey at Knitting Factory Brooklyn.  Get your advance tickets HERE!

Check out The Sons & Heirs LIVE at the Morrissey’s 54th Birthday Celebration

On Saturday, I’m going to party like it’s 1996 with some punk, rock, ska, rockabilly, and a lot of dancing.  My band, Bikini Carwash,  is playing at the “Rock n Roll Girlie Show” with Beat Brigade, Los Dudes, The Purslaines, a bunch of hot burlesque go go’s, and Kryssy Kocktail (Coney Island Sideshow) at Trash Bar. After the show I am heading over to Knitting Factory BK for the Rebel Night party with special performance by The Di Maggio Connection (Italy), The Garnet Hearts, burlesque with Raquel Reed and Heather Holiday, and ending it all with a battle twist off! The Rebel Night is one of my favorite parties out there with talented bands (especially mine) and cool retro vibes. Get your $15 advance tickets  or try your luck with our limited SHAW guest list HERE!

For details to all other events such as Fixed NYC, Cut Copy DJ set at Verboten, Ecstatic Music Festival and more, check out the rest of the email and our SHAW Calendar.

Lastly, a friendly reminder that SHAW Promotion presents “Bootie Mashup 80s vs 90s” party is just one week away! This is our Spring comeback, as we took a small break of the Winter to regroup and bring you the best dance party out there. Check out “Bootie Top 10 – February 2014” to get you in the mood, then go get your advance tickets.

Greetings New York City
So the word on the street is that Saturn is coming, the “Eastern Beast Winter Storm“. Put all that inconvenience aside, I actually really like a good snow storm but it does make the night life a little harder to love. I hope that doesn’t stop you for going out to Props with Rich Medina and Akalepse at The Gallery of Le Poisson Rouge or the RENEGADES Rock Party w. DJs Steve Lewis, Samuel Valentine & David Katz at the DL. My man Samuel Valentine is working hard  for the love of ROCK, so nevermind the storm and go out!  Here is a message from the Renegades party crew: “Do your part and let everyone know about the party because together we are bringing rock & roll mayhem back to the LES”.

We are still running our ticket contest for this Saturday’s Coney Island USA Spring Gala 2013: The Burlesque Manifesto at Webster Hall. The winner will be selected on Friday at 3PM. To enter to win these bad boys, please RSVP with us and write “SHAW me the tickets- Coney Island ” in the additional info section. The winner will be chose at random, meaning JaiDee will decide based on how good you are to her (if you want a lead on these tickets you can email her at JaiDee@shawpromotion.com after your RSVP entry and tell her why you deserve these $60 tickets to this historical post Hurricane Sandy gala.

Also this week we have a few awesome parties this week that’s guaranteed to be a fun time. Check out the new party this Thursday “Run On” presented by Gavin Russom with Nancy Whang (DFA, LCD Soundsystem), Nomi Ruiz (Jessica 6) & Druzzi (The Rapture) at The DL. Yup, it’s like that! A great lineup plus open bar and admission is…. FREE! Just RSVP to http://flvr.pl/djNWhang!

Besides the Coney Island Spring Gala on Saturday, we also have FIXED x The Dog & Pony Show with the return of BICEP at Le Poisson Rouge and this just sounds good. JDH & Dave P are just two of my favorite DJs in the city – their parties never fail to disappoint.  Lastly, we’ve been working with a band named Del Exilio who’s having a release party for their new record “Panamericano” at Joe’s Pub. If your a fan of good Latin Rock, you need to check them out!

“Trash! w Milan (RuPaul’s Drag Race), Sebastien Drums, Darenzia at Disco Down, Fader Edition BK Bazaar, Annie Kyle’s True Beauty +”

Hello New York,
Hope everyone had a great holiday and extended weekend, we sure did a lot of sleeping, eating leftovers, and jogging. We also went to the opening of Brooklyn Night Bazaar this past weekend and it’s amazing how awesome something like this exists. It was packed both days with great vendors, food, DJs and bands plus there a separate huge room with multiple ping-pone tables and soccer field. The other thing that was very impressive was how visible and organized the recycling sections were. Our dear friend Alyson Schill and Grow NYC did an amazing job setting this up for the bazaar and we couldn’t be more on her side with this. This weekend’s BK Night Bazaar will be presented by Fader and again, it’s all FREE and definitely worth checking out!

Also this week we have the beautiful and erotic international fetish model Darenzia at Disco Down tonight. I remember meeting Darenzia through Marlo Marquise when SHAW was hosting the DFA dinner parties at Hudson Hotel and we have been a fan of hers ever since. With Darenzia and a vodka open bar, Disco Down is the place to be tonight to ward off the storm!

Wednesday is the opening reception for Annie Kyle’s “True Beauty” at Fuse Gallery, we always love these monthly gallery shows by Fuse Gallery. Thursday we have a new event on our calendar, “The Graham Slam” at The Graham here in Brooklyn with drink specials all night and hot bartenders.  At Webster Hall this Friday is Girls & Boys party with Sebastien Drums, Revolvr & Midnight Conspiracy and downstairs at the infamous Trash! party where we have a special late night cabaret by MILAN of RuPaul’s Drag Race. We have your comp guest list here, just RSVP!!

On personal note, we had our first annual Thanksgiving dinner at the SHAW HQ in Brooklyn which was such a fun and heart warming party with close friends and tons of food. Our guests started hand turkey drawings on our office dry erase board which turned out to be hilarious. The mini turkeys in the middle are our dogs and our friends dogs paws.  It’s going to be hard to erase this gem.

Thank you for reading. For those of you with $2 and a dream, don’t forget the Power Ball jackpot this week is $500 million dollars. I’m gonna tap that because “Hey, You Never Know…”

We are giving away ONE PAIR of 3-day passes to this weekend’s NYC Comic Con, courtesy of our good friend, the ultra beautiful  Shien Lee of Dances of Vice!  I start attending Comic Con many years ago in San Diego and it quickly became one of my fav conventions, being around so many fun and creative costumes and characters, it’s an endless entertainment.  To win your passes, all you have to do is to have the most “likes” on our SHAW FaceBook page to win! Click here for more details. This contest ends at 3PM Thursday Oct, 11th and we will announce the winner.   Passes must be picked up at the SHAW Promotion office in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

We would like to welcome Trophy Bar to our calendar this week with 2 events, Wheel Up! and Clump! One Year Anniversary and we have 3 super fun events are our ever favorite Le Poisson Rouge featuring the epic return of the ultra glam Bowie Ball 2012 by the one and only Deryck ToddMaculay Culkin’s iPod 1 Year Anniversary (Hulk Hogan Halloween Edition), and the woman of the week, Shien Lee’s Pulp Science fiction party.

So many fun things going on there including Troma founder, Lloyd Kaufman, showing clips from “Nuke ‘Em High” plus a hot zombie contest, zombie burlesque, demonic metal bands, and much much more. All ages for the crawl, 19 + for the after party, you are not going to want to miss this! One of SHAW’s favorites!

Lastly, we received our invitation to the upcoming PaperMag Nightlife Awards this week and it’s a bit of bummer to know that we are not nominated for “Best Promoter” of the year, but it’s awesome to see so many of our friends and clients on the nomination lists. I want to give a big congrats to all the nominees and can’t wait to see you all there; it  should be as fun and outrageous as all past ones.

Alright folks, thank you for reading and happy birthday to me.  Have a great week!

REYKA VODKA BRINGS TWO US BANDS AND FANS TO ICELAND AIRWAVES!

Reyka Vodka, the first vodka ever distilled in Iceland and one of our sponsors, is giving undiscovered American bands a chance to take a spot onstage as part of our very own Iceland Airwaves. Bands can submit their tracks to www.Reyka.com and two bands, selected by Iceland Airwaves, will win a weeklong trip to Reykjavík including travel and lodging, and get their shot to play alongside some of the most exciting and inspired names in independent music. Wowee!

Once the bands have been selected, then it’s the fans’ turn. Beginning August 14, fans will be encouraged to vote for their favorite of the two bands via the Reyka website. The band that receives the most votes will select two lucky contestants at random from the pool of voters to win an all expenses paid trip to Iceland Airwaves for them and a friend.

This marks the second year Reyka Vodka will bring some of the best in America’s indie music cred to its Icelandic homeland through Breakthrough at Airwaves. In 2011, YACHTCaged Animals and Young Magic each were selected for the program and, in addition to sharing their music with an international audience, were taken on a hometown tour of Iceland courtesy of Reyka, Reykjavik, Blue Lagoon, and the Golden Circle were just some of the natural wonders the group experienced firsthand providing a glimpse inside this unique island that has spawned a truly distinct creative culture.

The contest is open until August 1, with the winning bands to be announced August 14, 2012, and winning consumers to be announced on September 7 2012. NOW CHECK IT OUT!

Big Trouble in Little Chinatown!, Macaulay Culkin’s iPod? TRASH! Girls and Boy with Noisia and More!
Hello New York!

Stephen Pandolfi reporting in for week three while Andy Shaw is out on his adventure with Jaidee. I haven’t had a chance to speak with him lately but I did snag these two photos from his Facebook page.

We all miss him over here at Shaw Promotion! In the mean time I’m here to let you know the 411 on fun in NYC… So we have our regular line up of weekly parties including Disco Down, Props, Downtown Top Rankin, TRASH! with special guest DJ Static Groove who is celebrating there newest release “illegal chocolate sex panther… that should be interesting. Upstairs from Trash Girls & Boys packs the upstairs with Noisa and Calverton playing bangers. This week we are happy to feature two very interesting parties.. Macaulay Culkin’s iPod which we are told is exactly what it sounds like so don’t say we didn’t tell ya so and “Big Trouble in Little Chinatown” with DJs Tittsworth and long time mate of Shaw Promotion Alex English at 88 Palace. One of the things that make this party so cool is because 88 Palace is an old crazy looking mall in China town…like something out of a movie! In this case just like Big Trouble in Little China one of my absolute favorites.

Before I leave you all I just received and e mail from Jaidee telling me check out this awesome movie on Harley Davidson featured here at WSJ.com. I wish so own a Harley of my own one day. In the mean time I’ll stick to my regular bicycle… speaking of which I’m late for worth I better pedal out of here! Anyone of in Williamsburg can find me tending bar at K&M all day and night!

Thank you for reading and have a great week!
