Hello NYC,
I would like to begin this newsletter with some exciting personal news! Seventeen years after leaving the Fashion Institute of Technology, I randomly received an email yesterday from the school. They want to feature me/Shaw Promotion in the next issue of Hue―FIT’s alumni magazine―naming me an “exemplary graduate of the school.” Wow. WOW! I am so honored by this, and it makes me feel so rewarded for all the hard work I have put into this DIY company over the past 10 years! (Full disclosure: I actually never graduated from FIT. I was honest with them, but they replied that they are still “thrilled” to have me. Well hell yeah!) I am also thrilled to have this opportunity to inspire and give back to FIT! I wasn’t exactly an honor student, but my studies of “Advertising and Communications” at FIT definitely contributed to who I am today. I am extremely thankful, so thank you FIT!

Today’s good news comes in a pair. I also want to give a big shout out to our campaign manager, JaiDee Valentine, for having her All Tomorrow’s Parties (which BTW was AMAZING) photos published in The Village Voice online yesterday! We have a BIG week coming up with some awesome events.
