Introducing: The Little People Party.

SHAW Promotion, The Sensation Collective and The Pitch

Little people

From night life to dad life, open bar to open play. Now that I’m a parent, suddenly I’ve found myself really interested keeping my kid entertained with kiddie activities and events. Teaming up with The Sensation Collective and The Pitch, we are launching The Little People Party, a new party for kids and parents at NYC’s largest soccer specific indoor field, The Pitch, in Williamsburg BK. Opening party is Monday, September 12 and we start out with a bang with a full hour of open play on the field followed by and sing along with musical stylings by Calliope Crystal-Berry. Throw in a bar with happy hour prices and delicious food for purchase by Berry Park, a free photo booth by Okidokidz, and face painting and you’ve got something that appeals to kids and parents alike. Please go LIKE -> The Little People Party Facebook page <- and help us spread the word, this is not your typical kid event!

This Thursday August 11, This Is Our Music and Le Poisson Rouge bring you HERBIE HANCOCK live at Prospect Park Bandshell with Robert Glasper Experiment. “In addition to being recognized as a legendary pianist and composer, Herbie Hancock has been an integral part of every jazz movement since the 1960s. As a member of the Miles Davis Quintet, he became one of the pioneers of the avant garde sound. His recordings during the ’70s combined electric jazz with funk and rock sounds in an innovative style that continues to influence contemporary music. “Rockit” and “Future Shock” marked Hancock’s foray into electronic dance music and included several chart-topping hits; during the same period he continued to work in an acoustic setting with V.S.O.P., which included ex-Miles Davis bandmates Wayne Shorter, Ron Carter, and Tony Williams. Hancock has received an Academy Award for his Round Midnight film score and 14 Grammy Awards, including Album Of The Year for “River: The Joni Letters” and two 2011 Grammy Awards for his recently released globally collaborative CD, “The Imagine Project.” Many of his compositions, including “Canteloupe Island,” “Maiden Voyage,” “Watermelon Man,” and “Chameleon,” are modern standards that have had a profound effect on all styles of modern”

In addition to all the fun festivals, shows, and parties going on this month, we are personally very excited to attend the Slackers concert cruise on Friday August 26, presented by Rocksoff.  The only thing better than seeing a band you love is to see them on a boat while cruising around the iconic landmarks and skylines of NYC.  You can get tickets HERE and be sure to check out for all their upcoming shows, we can’t wait!

“If there exists a more entertaining and engaging live band to ever come out of New York City than The Slackers, we have never seen or heard of them. They are an insanely awesome mix of reggae, rock steady, ska, and soul music. If you can’t have fun at a Slackers concert then you suck at life. The last time we saw saw someone frowning at a Slackers concert was never. Rocks Off honcho Jake likes to tell people that in the unlikely event he were to ever get married, the Slackers would be the band he would hire for his wedding. All Aboard and Anchors Away!!!!”
