SHAW PROMOTION Newsletter & Event Details 5.15 – 5.21

“SHAW presents Bootie Pirate Ship, Down & Derby Returns, Girls Who Rock, Fake Blood, Gotham Girls, Hot Mess & The Blackened Music Series and more!”

Hello New York,
In the sea of event newsletters in NYC there are a few I really enjoy reading such as Rok One and Roxy Cottontail, but one of my favorite has always been Seva at MyOpenBar.com.  Yesterday, I received the “Your LAST MYOPENBAR EMAIL EVER” email blast; they simply stated in a true MyOpenBar fashion “That’s right. We’re over it.” and I was all  “Say it ain’t so”!  SHAW is good friends with MyOpenBar and have been blasting our emails side by side for the past 7+ years. Well Seva, it’s been fun and we wish you best luck, but the SHAW must go on and we will continue our 9 year tradition with our newsletter (going and going and going… ). Thank you for all your support throughout all these years, it truly makes us appreciate our readers after another newsletter bites the dust.

Wiping our tears and moving on, this week we have 17 events from Tuesday to Monday with the Return of Down & Derby (Finally!) and Gotham Girls Roller Derby (Queens VS Bronx) to “The greatest Artists in Heavy Music (hell yeah!) presented by The Blacken Music Series, a special star-studded “Girls Who Rock” benefit concert, the monthly Hot Mess! party (Leslie Fest 2012!), the Hello Taiwan NYC tour at Drom, the 3 year anniversary of Fac:Off in celebration of Ian Curtis (Joy Division) and the usual awesome weekly parties such as Disco Down, Props, Trash! Samuel Valentine parties + Fake Blood and Bart B More at Girls & Boys.

This is also a very exciting week as SHAW PROMOTION will be presenting the Bootie Mashup Pirate Ship Party on the The Star of Palm Beach boat which sails around NYC! I said this before and I will say it again, the Bootie NYC is one of our most popular parties and we are so excited to do a boat party; this Saturday will be totally wild  and we can not wait to board the ship at midnight for this late night cruise. Tickets are almost sold out so you will need to act fast and buy tickets if you are planning on coming.  You can buy your tickets HERE now!!!!

Also coming up soon is the annual NYC Zombie Crawl proudly sponsored by SHAW. Zombie Crawl Brooklyn is honestly one of the summer highlights and it really is meant for everyone — JaiDee’s parents had a blast last year!  Check out the details on www.shawpromotion.com for the zombie activities and naughty after party and photos from last year’s Zombie Crawl!.

Thank you for reading, have a wonderful week and thank you again for the support!!

ENCORE! Sessions” feature the most innovative musicians by sharing unique live performances and interviews with music fans around the world.

ENCORE! Sessions are being shot on location at the recently opened Le Baron in Chinatown, NYC. The intimate venue is the latest club from nightlife impresarios Andre Saraiva and Lionel Bensemoun, who over the past years have been cultivating a strong creative community through their permanent establishments (Paris, Tokyo, London, etc) and pop- up clubs (Cannes’ Film Festival, Art Basel Miami, etc) at the crossroads of various movements in Music, Fashion, Film and Contemporary Art, amongst others.

ENCORE! Sessions are a medium for artists to try new material, experiment with songs for the first time-ever and showcase themselves in a way they have never done before. There are no ticket sales, no agenda, just a “blank canvas”. Each session involves 6 HD cameras, a 24-track surround audio recording, a 16 person crew and hours of video editing and sound mixing, for a content quality that is second to none. Shows are 15 minutes long, with 3 songs from the live performance and interviews in between.

Following the season premiere, a new show will be unveiled each Tuesday: The Virgins (May 8), Heartsrevolution (May 15), Friends (May 22), and Little Dragon (May 29). Little Dragon’s session will be recorded this Thursday, May 3rd, at Le Baron Chinatown. More shows will follow. The launch campaign includes street marketing, digital and social media, amongst others, and the content is available at
